Spotting an actual celebrity in Hollywood is always a thrill. However, if you haven’t crossed paths with your favorite star by the end of your vacation, the next best thing may be snapping a photo with their life-sized replica. Since 1966, the Hollywood Wax Museum has presented recreations of Tinsel Town’s most beloved personalities: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Katherine Hepburn, Robert Redford, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Marilyn Monroe are among the 180 figures. Movie studios and Hollywood costume designers work with the wax sculptors to provide authentic costumes, or even actual body parts from the movie, in the case of monster re-creations. The museum touts itself as the only one in the world entirely dedicated to entertainment personalities, and it also includes duplicates of entire movie sets, like Dorothy and friends strolling down the Yellow Brick Road from the Wizard of Oz.
