Museum grounds and Lagoon: Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-sunset. Museum: Wed.-Sat. 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Adjacent to the Adamson House are the Malibu Lagoon Wetlands and the Malibu Lagoon Museum, which highlight the history of the area. The lagoon wetlands area is home to birds and a variety of native plants. Young and old delight in the beachfront tide pool, found over a bridge at the end of a brush-lined path. The museum tour gives visitors a glimpse of California’s evolution over the last two centuries, from the native Chumash tribe, to the ‘white’ settlers who ranched the area, to today’s Hollywood stars and local surf bums.
