On the sandstone cliffs above Santa Monica Beach and along Ocean Avenue, Palisades Park provides a magnificent setting for a morning jog or evening stroll. Looking out from the park, the entire Santa Monica Bay is visible, stretching from the tip of Malibu to the furthest point of Palos Verdes. Sometimes, you can see all the way to the island of Catalina, situated about 26 miles off the mainland. While strolling through the park, stop by the Visitor Kiosk. It is open daily and provides maps, bus schedules, and information on seasonal events around town.
