The Playboy Mansion is a place of intrigue and legend. Famous for its celebrity-studded bashes, the mansion is home to the No. 1 Playboy himself, Hugh Hefner, and his three girlfriends—Bridget, Holly and Kendra. That’s right: the three featured on the popular reality TV show, “The Girls Next Door.” Born in Chicago in 1926, Heffner launched Playboy magazine in 1949, with the first issue featuring nude photos of Marilyn Monroe. After enjoying much success, and swinging through the ‘60s at the first Playboy mansion in Chicago, Hugh headed to California and bought this 5-acre Beverly Hills estate in 1971. The nearly 15,000-square-foot home has a total of 31 rooms, including seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Other famous features at the Playboy Mansion include a zoo, a game room filled with Playboy-themed pinball machines and pool tables, and the lagoon pool, which includes the infamous covered Jacuzzi area, otherwise known as “The Grotto.” Hefner also owns the mansion next door, which was home to his second wife and their children for many years.
